CamlooCam App
Home screen
The CamlooCam app is the website itself, saved as an icon on your phone. No download is involved from a store: you open the site once, add it to your home screen, and from then on one tap takes you straight to the match screen in full screen.
No sign-up · Free to start · Video, Audio or Text

Not from an app store, and you do not need one. CamlooCam runs in the browser you already have, and the home-screen version gives you an icon, a full-screen view and quick launching. It works as a random video chat app in every way that matters, without an install or an update queue.
That also means there is no file to trust, no permissions screen with twenty items on it, and nothing taking up storage. The browser asks for your camera and microphone the first time you start a video match, and that is the whole setup. If you later delete the icon, nothing else is left behind on your phone.
An install, a store listing and update downloads. You add camloocam.com to your home screen in a few taps, it opens full screen, and it is always the current version of the site. The camera is the only permission, and the browser asks for it the first time you start a video match.
| What you do | What happens |
|---|---|
| Install | Add the site in a few taps from the browser menu |
| Updates | Nothing to do; the shortcut always opens the current site |
| Camera | Asked the first time you start a video match |
| Account | You start as a guest; a photo or name is optional |
You start as a guest and decide later whether a profile is worth it. If you want the full walk-through of the screens you will see, the guide to how everything fits together goes through them in order.
Yes. On a laptop or desktop you simply use CamlooCam in Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox with your webcam, no shortcut needed. Chrome and Edge may also offer to install the site as a desktop window from the address bar, if you would rather keep it apart from your tabs.
A laptop gives you a wider online list and a steadier picture if the computer sits on a desk. A phone is easier to take to the sofa. The cam to cam guide covers light and angle on both, and it is worth a read before your first 1v1.
On an iPhone this only works from Safari, so open camloocam.com there rather than inside another app’s built-in browser.
Type camloocam.com in the address bar and let the page load fully.
The square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen on most iPhones.
Scroll the list if you do not see it straight away. Keep the name CamlooCam or shorten it.
The coral and white CC icon appears next to your other apps. Open it from there from now on.
If the camera does not start the first time, go to Settings, then Safari, then Camera, and set it to Ask or Allow.
On Android, Chrome is the easiest browser for this. Samsung Internet and others have a similar option in their menus.
Wait for the page to finish loading.
Top right corner of the browser.
The wording depends on your Chrome version; both do the same thing here.
The CamlooCam icon lands on your home screen, and on some phones in the app drawer too.
Allow the camera and microphone when Chrome asks, the first time you start a video match. If you said no by mistake, tap the lock icon next to the address, open Permissions and switch the camera back on.
Mostly speed and space. The icon opens CamlooCam full screen, without the address bar or browser tabs, so the video gets the whole display. You land on the site in one tap, and it updates itself whenever the site does, with nothing for you to download.
Everything else stays the same. The match screen has the same Video, Audio and Text modes along the bottom, and the online list and the Live tab are where you expect them.
One practical point: on some phones the home-screen version keeps its own storage, separate from the browser, so you may arrive as a fresh guest the first time you open it. Add a profile photo or a name you will recognise, and follow anyone you want to find again.
Before you open the shortcut late at night, have a look at what other people can see and how to report someone. It takes two minutes. The CamlooCam home page also gives a quick tour of the three chat modes, and the coins page explains what is free and what uses coins.

Phone and laptop
It behaves like one: its own icon, full screen and quick to open, which is all most people want from a cam 2 cam app. Underneath it is the website, so there is nothing to install and nothing to update by hand.
Because it is not distributed there. Open camloocam.com in Safari and use Share, then Add to Home Screen, and the icon sits next to your other apps.
Video uses battery on any phone, shortcut or not. For long chats, plug in, lower the screen brightness a little and close other apps that use the camera.
Tablets work the same way as phones: open the site in the browser, allow camera and microphone, and add it to the home screen if you like.
Another app may be holding it. Close video apps running in the background, check the camera permission for your browser in the phone settings, then reopen CamlooCam.
No. Removing the icon only removes the shortcut; nothing is deleted from your account.
