CamlooCam What we collect

What we collect

The Privacy Policy explains our approach. This page is the practical version: go through CamlooCam one feature at a time and see what each one stores, and why it needs to. If something here does not match what you see on the site, tell us at [email protected].

01 Opening the site as a guest

When camloocam.com loads for the first time, a guest profile is created so you can start without a form. To make that work, the site stores an identifier for your session in the browser, along with basic device details: browser type, operating system, screen size, language setting and an approximate region worked out from your IP address. These keep your session alive between visits, lay the site out sensibly and help us notice when one device creates suspicious numbers of profiles.

If you add CamlooCam to your home screen, nothing extra is collected for that. The shortcut opens the same site in a full-screen window and uses the same session stored in your browser. Clearing that browser’s data, or using a private window, starts a fresh guest profile.

02 Random matching

Each time you tap Start, the system notes that a search began, which mode you chose (Video, Audio or Text), who you were matched with, when the chat started and when it ended. This is what makes Next work, keeps you from being paired with someone you blocked, and lets us work out whether matching is fast enough at different times of day.

Camera and microphone access is asked for by your browser, not taken silently. If you refuse, Video and Audio will not work but Text still will. Audio and video are passed between the two people in the chat so that you can see and hear each other.

03 Your profile and follows

Other users see your display name and photo when you match with them or when they open your profile from the online list. Your email address, your payment details and your IP address stay out of their view.

When you open someone’s profile and send a message or start a call from it, that action is stored the same way as a random match: who started it, the mode and when it ended. Following someone simply adds a link between the two profiles, which disappears if either of you blocks the other.

  • Display name and profile photo, if you set them.
  • The people you follow and the people who follow you.
  • The accounts you have blocked.
  • Basic profile settings, such as your language.

04 Messages and translation

Text sent in Text mode, profile messages and the conversation history in your messages screen are stored so you can scroll back and continue later. When automatic translation is on for a message, the text is sent to a translation service and the translated version is stored next to the original. Nothing said out loud on voice or camera is translated.

Messages that are part of a report can be read by the team handling it. Outside of that, message history is used to display your own conversations and to keep the site working, not to build an advertising profile.

05 Clips and live streams

When you watch short clips or streams in the Live tab, the site records what you opened so it can load the next items and keep your place. Comments you write in a stream are shown to everyone watching that stream and stored with it. Gifts you send, and requests for a one-on-one chat from inside a stream, are recorded with the coins they used.

06 Free matches, coins and VIP on your profile

For every purchase we keep what was bought, the price, the time and the confirmation from the payment processor. Card or wallet details are entered with the payment processor, not stored by CamlooCam. Your coin balance, VIP status and spending history are kept so balances stay correct.

Free matches, including the ones handed out by the Reward Center while you stay online, are tracked against your profile so the right number is available and the same reward is not claimed twice. That tracking includes how long you have been online during a session.

Refund or billing questions sent to support are kept with the purchase they refer to, so the history makes sense if the same question comes up again.

07 Reports and support

When you report someone, the report, the accounts involved and related activity such as recent matches and messages between those accounts may be looked at to decide whether rules were broken. Emails to support, along with any screenshots, are kept so we can follow up and refer back to them if the same issue comes up again.

08 Worth remembering

We do not sell personal information, and we do not ask for identity documents to start a chat. What the people you meet learn about you comes almost entirely from your camera frame, your profile and what you say, so the simplest privacy setting is still the one in your own hands: keep your surname, address and workplace out of all three.

If you want to see what we hold about your own profile, or have any of it corrected or removed, email the support address with your display name. The Privacy Policy explains those rights in more detail, and the request costs nothing. We may ask one question first to check the profile is really yours, because handing your history to the wrong person would defeat the point.
